The Bunyip and District Community Bank has given back to the local community, presenting $77,000 in grants and sponsorship as part of its Community Investment Program.

Bunyip community members and group representatives attended the special presentation event on Wednesday 17 April at the Garfield Picture Theatre.

Branch manager Bashir Keshtiar said the evening was a chance to reconnect with the community.

“The presence of all recipients and our board made the evening special, and we look forward to continuing to support and grow together.

“I am glad we are doing this at a time that all the major banks have shut their doors at Bunyip, but our community bank is not only there but reinvesting into community to grow.

“Let’s keep building a stronger, more vibrant community together.”

Mr Keshtiar said the branch’s team was grateful for the support of Brewsters Foodstore and Café for their catering and for the support of Fred and Susan Perez for hosting the event at the Garfield Picture Theatre.

This year’s recipients were Bunyip Striker Soccer Club, Bunyip Connect Inc, Bunyip Fire Brigade, Bunyip Football Club, Bunyip Kindergarten, Bunyip Netball Club, Bunyip Primary School, Bunyip Tennis Club, Garfield Golf Club, Garfield Football Club, Garfield Kindergarten, Garfield Netball Club, Garfield Spectator, Garfield/Tynong Cricket Club, Hillview Bunyip Aged Care Inc, Nar Nar Goon Junior Football Club and the Elvis 1 Variety Bash Car.
