Jeff Lempriere (Jeffers) was a gentleman, a greatly loved and respected husband and an understanding kind and loving stepfather.
He was a country lawyer whose council, sound advice and wisdom was respected by all who knew him.
Jeff’s talents, service and influence show the traits of character of quite sustainable strength; his magnanimity, moral fortitude, self control, generous deeds and a wicked indefinable sense of humour was shared by many Australians.
Tributes have touched on his public actions and services, and it is with reserve and determination and clear insight that he contributed and continued to contribute to the benefit and welfare of fellow Australians.
His community service includes past president Apex Club of Hamilton, Victoria; past president of Rotary Club of Pakenham; Paul Harris Fellow and Rotarian for 42 years and was a member Rotary Club of Bunyip-Garfield; past president Pakenham Chamber of Commerce; chairman of trustees Pakenham Community Chest Trust Fund; past chairman Pakenham support group for Windermere Child and Family Services, and retired director Save the Children Victoria.
Jeff was a keen sports fan, a devoted follower of Carlton Football Club and was an amateur footballer with University High School old boys and a member of the 1960 B grade VAFA Premiership team.
Jeff was a Melbourne Tiger fan in the NBL and was cricket mad following the fortunes of the Victorian and Australian teams.
When time permitted (which was not very often), he had been known to enjoy a round of golf with mates.
Jeff was thrilled and regarded it a great honour to have been selected to participate in the Olympic Torch Relay.
He loved Kate (his wife), Skye and family unconditionally and loved, respected and admired his work colleagues.
He will be immensely missed.
