Trivia night to curb crime

CASEY’S community crusaders put their minds to the test in Cranbourne on the weekend.
Casey Neighbourhood Watch held its annual trivia night on Saturday, to help the group raise funds in support of its crime prevention work.
This year’s event, organised by Sharon Wallace, was held at the Balla Balla Community Centre, with more than 100 people turning out for an evening of trivia, raffles, mini-games and a sports memorabilia auction.
There was even a karaoke competition, with the volunteers showing off their impressive singing skills.
Meanwhile, the Casey Cardinia Proactive Policing Unit also set up an information stand at the Westfield Shopping Centre Fountain Gate throughout June.
The officers from the unit met with shoppers and visitors and provided information on action people can take to help themselves from becoming victims of crime.
The next Casey Neighbourhood Watch meeting will be held on Wednesday 8 July at the City of Casey Civic Centre.
