A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged after a man was allegedly pistol-whipped at a Narre Warren shopping centre on Friday afternoon.
His victim was allegedly struck several times with the butt of a gun during the attack at the Princes Highway shopping centre about 5.30pm.
Several males also kicked the victim in the head and fled the scene during the incident.
The victim did not require medical assistance.
The boy has been charged with affray, possessing a hand-gun, assault with a weapon and “other assault charges”, a police spokesman said on Tuesday morning.
The spokesman refused to confirm media reports on Monday that the boy was arrested during a Special Operation Group police raid on a Hallam home on Saturday.
The spokesman also would not confirm whether the boy was related to a young male who was charged following recent counter-terrorism raids.
The boy will appear at a children’s court at a later date.
