A GROUP of Casey’s finest young leaders got a taste of Canberra earlier this month.
Holt MP Anthony Byrne met the 2015 City of Casey Australia Day Study Tour students last week during their visit to the Australian Parliament.
The group of 10 was chosen by the City of Casey to be members of this year’s Australia Day tour.
“We discussed the future of the Australian economy, the role of leadership in Australian politics and local traffic congestion issues,” Mr Holt said.
“These young leaders impressed me with their detailed thoughtful questions and their concerns for the community.
“Their parents and their community should be proud of them.”
The City of Casey Australia Day Study Tour gives a group of Year 11 students the opportunity to observe the workings of local, state and federal government in Australia.
The federal component of the tour is conducted over five days and includes a three-day visit to Canberra where students meet members of Parliament, tour Parliament House, attend Question Time, and potentially meet the Prime Minister.
