Knife bandit makes right call

A MASKED gatecrasher armed with a knife who demanded a partygoer hand over his mobile phone was urged to give it back by his apparent accomplices.
The three offenders stormed the Cranbourne North party just after midnight on Saturday, with one holding a knife and wearing a bandana over his face.
Several partygoers fled the Ayres Close property through an adjacent paddock.
It’s believed one of the victims who fled then returned to the house where he was confronted by the armed offender who held the knife to his stomach and demanded his phone.
But it’s understood the two other intruders appeared reluctant and convinced the armed offender to give the victim back his phone.
All three intruders then fled through the nearby paddock.
Two of the intruders aren’t believed to have been disguised, and police are urging anyone with information about their appearance to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
