A WELL rounded student from Pakenham was recognised for her ability in a variety of sports when she received a The Pierre De Coubertin Award.
Lakeside Lutheran College student Alexandra Johnson received the award which is based on a student’s ability to demonstrate the Olympic values within their school’s sporting program.
Secondary schools across Victoria are allowed to nominate a year 10, 11 or 12 student to receive the award.
Alexandra received her award at the MCG on Sunday 18 May.
She plays netball for the Pakenham Lions Netball Club and has represented the district in the regional Sharks team.
She has also excelled in cricket and plays for the Dandenong Women’s Cricket Club.
In addition, she has represented Victoria in the Sharks in the state-wide under 16s competition.
Alexandra has also represented Lakeside Lutheran College and has been part of division winning teams in volleyball, netball, cricket, athletics, swimming, cross country and table tennis.
The young sports champion was presented with her award, certificate and brooch in the MCG dining room by Olympic Silver Medallist in aerial skiing David Morris.
