Double theft dumps Dyllon

DYLLON vanden Elst couldn’t believe his bad luck when he noticed last Monday morning that his Kawasaki motorcycle had been stolen for the second time in two years .
The 21-year-old Pakenham resident discovered his 1996 Kawasaki ZX6R Ninja motorcycle wasn’t in his driveway when he went to go to work.
His worst fears were confirmed when he noticed a dewy tyre mark in the grass across the road.
Mr vanden Elst had only had his motorcycle back on the road for four months after it was taken for the first time in late 2004.
“I spent about $2500 just to repair the bike and get it back on the road again when it got stolen for the first time, and then it happens again,” a frustrated Mr vanden Elst said.
“At first I was annoyed that I couldn’t get to work that day but a couple of hours later the real anger set in that my motorbike had been stolen for a second time.”
What has made Mr vanden Elst even angrier is the fact that the motorcycle is his only mode of transport and he now can only get to work on a part-time basis.
“I start work out at Dandenong at 5am and I can now only get there three days a week when a friend from work is able to pick me up.”
The Pakenham resident appealed to whoever has his motorcycle to return it to a safe place so he can get his life back to some form of normality.
“It is such a hassle not being able to get to work every day. If they just leave it in a car park or where someone will find it and notify the police, it would be great.”
“The bike has primer on the left side of the tank where it has been damaged before and there is also a large patch of primer on the right side which makes it quite distinctive.”
Anyone who has seen the Kawasaki motorcycle is asked to contact Pakenham police on 5941 1033.
