Charlie the Cockatoo was one of the 6000 guests to attend the Pakenham Carols by Candlelight.
The 76-year-old cockatoo resides at the Pakenham Pony Rescue Centre with adoring parents Fiona Lester and Dean Cowan.
“Cockatoos can live up to 140 so he’s really just a middle aged bloke,” Mr Cowan said.
“He’s very outspoken and can argue a point.
“He comes everywhere with us here at the rescue, and he lives out with the ponies – ‘the big cockies’ – as he likes to call them.”
Charlie was rescued by the pair a number of years ago and is now part and parcel of the pony rescue organisation.
