Pretty performance from Rob and the team at San Remo

SWGMW BOWLS

San Remo Bowls Club played host to 37 members of the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group on Thursday on a beautiful autumn day.

It was good to see a couple of new faces in the group and we hope they continue to play in our weekly competition.

The good weather brought out some really good bowling, which led to some very tight games, but it was still lots of fun with a fair amount of friendly banter among the players and lots of laughter.

There were a few wrong bias shots today and the Royal Children’s Hospital tin is filling more and more week by week; great job all.

Many thanks to Haydn for his work both in the kitchen as well as behind the bar, also to Gwen once again for her work in the kitchen.

Also, a huge thank you goes to Peter and Pauline for their hard work, and to John for his master of ceremonies duties.

This week’s winners on 36 points were Rob Pretty (S), Laurie Bell (3) and Peter Taylor (L).

Runners up on 33 points were Mick Walton (S), Ken Barnes (3), Sue Wright (2) and Ann Graham (L).

Best one game winner, also on 33 points, was the team of Peter Gratton (S), Raff Merante (3), Chris Brooks (2) and Bob Arnold (L).

I take this opportunity to congratulate so many of our players who made it into finals this year in their Pennant competitions.

Unfortunately, at this point, we have only Corinella Div 4 left and we wish them well for this coming weekend in their grand final.

Next week we will be meeting at Lang Lang and ask that everyone be on site before 10 am to allow our hardest working member Peter to arrange the teams.

So be safe and see you all next week.

-Laurie Bell-
