King conquers the highest peg-out

A magnificent season-high 142 peg-out from Terry King was the major individual highlight in round seven of the South West Gippsland Dart League.

King’s incredible finish overshadowed the previous best peg-out of 108 from Sheryll from PakyOne, and led his Just Social team to a thumping 13-2 victory over the 26ers.

The other individual highlight of the night came when Anthony Lawler from Warriors became just the sixth player of the season to throw a coveted 180-maximum.

The Warriors were in terrific touch against The Hoodies, with the 15-0 whitewash giving a true indication of the gap that exists between the top and bottom teams on the ladder.

The Warriors sit one game clear on the ladder with four teams – Snipers, Just Social, PakyOne and 26ers – forming the chasing pack.

Snipers proved too good for Rebels in an 11-4 victory, while PakyOne retained its place in the top four with a 10-5 win over Fore.

The remaining match proved to be the tightest game of the round, with Bullseyes leaping over Mud Rats into eighth place on the ladder courtesy of a 9-6 triumph.

Gembrook had the bye.

The game of the round in round eight will see Warriors (first) take on PakyOne (fourth).

Dean Gibbs from Snipers has the most tons for the season with 44, with Anthony from Warriors next best with 29.

LADDER – ROUND 7: Warriors 24, Snipers 20, Just Social 20, PakyOne 20, 26ers 20, Rebels 12, Gembrook 12, Bullseyes 8, Mud Rats 4, Fore 0, The Hoodies 0.
