New team welcomed to the ‘Hood’

The new kid on the block got a rude introduction to life in the South West Gippsland Dart League (SWGDL) with one of the competition heavyweights standing their ground with authority.

Just Social was in no mood for niceties when it took on competition new-comer ‘The Hoodies’ in round two action.

The Hoodies had a bye in round one, and then faced the toughest of initiations against a perennial finalist who always seem to hit the target.

Just Social was in terrific form on the night, winning 14-1 and giving The Hoodies a taste of the level they need to aspire to.

Just Social is undefeated after two rounds, sitting second behind Warriors and level on points with Snipers who have also triumphed in the opening two rounds of the season.

Warriors backed up their 14-1 victory over FORE in round one with another clinical display, thumping Rebels 11-4.

Anthony Lawler from Warriors provided one of the highlights of the night, grabbing the highest peg with a classy 88 finish.

Snipers had a tougher time of things, prevailing 9-6 against PakyOne, with Dean Gibbs extending his lead in the tons thrown category, while 26ERS won by the same 9-6 margin against the Bullseyes.

The final game of round two was a thriller, with Gembrook winning by the narrowest of margins against the Mud Rats.

The 8-7 victory saw Gembrook move to sixth place on the ladder, with Mud Rats sliding to ninth.

LADDER – ROUND 2: Warriors 8, Just Social 8, Snipers 8, Rebels 4, PakyOne 4, Gembrook 4, 26ERS 4, Bullseyes 0, Mud Rats 0, FORE 0, The Hoodies 0.
