Koowee on target against Snipers

Can anyone catch Just Social?

The team based at Kooweerup Hotel is once again dominating the South West Gippsland Dart League (SWGDL), remaining undefeated after a super-impressive 10-5 victory over Snipers.

The win over Snipers completed a challenging run for Just Social, who has now defeated Paky One (fourth), Warriors (second) and Snipers (third) through rounds six to eight.

Expect Kooweerup to remain undefeated until it confronts the same three-week stretch in the second half of the SWGDL Winter Season.

Just Social had a night out against Snipers, with Dale Burton-Pye throwing his first 180 for the season, while teammate Jamie Wolff became the first player to throw two Winter Season maximums.

Terry King was also rock-solid throughout, throwing eight tons on the night to be a big contributor to the victory.

Snipers will be disappointed with the loss, but will know it can get better, with Dean Gibbs – who has thrown a league-leading 49 tons for the season – absent for the huge clash against Just Social.

The other top-four match-up saw Warriors walk away with a surprisingly easy 12-3 victory over Paky One.

This was expected to be a close contest, but Warriors took control from the outset and were never seriously threatened.

Warriors have had a great start to the season, with an 11-4 loss to Just Social their only blemish after eight rounds.

Warriors and Snipers will lock horns in the round-nine match-of-the round, with the winner to grab second place.

In other games this week, Bullseyes continued their winning streak with a 9-6 victory over Wizards.

After losing their first five matches, the Bullseyes have now won three on the trot after getting the better of their Middels Restaurant brethren.

Gembrook claimed the tightest victory of round eight, surviving an 8-7 thriller against Fore, while Rebels made it back-to-back victories with a 9-6 triumph over Mud Rats.

The Rebels have now moved to sixth place, just two games outside the top four.

Spectators are most welcome to visit the Cardinia Club in Pakenham on Tuesday nights to witness some red-hot darts action.

Matches commence at 7.30pm.
