Cannabis seized in Longwarry

Police seized 10kg of cannabis and arrested a 64-year-old Doreen man after intercepting a vehicle in Longwarry.

The 2015 Mazda CX-5 was intercepted on Saturday 11 June by Baw Baw Highway Patrol officers performing roving patrols on Koo-Wee Rup–Longwarry Road Road around 11.30am.

Police searched the vehicle and allegedly located 10kg of cannabis, estimated to be worth up to $200,000 street value, and $1300 in cash.

The man was charged with drug trafficking, possessing cannabis and dealing with proceeds of crime.

He was bailed to appear before Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court on Monday 22 August.
