Creating safer clubs and workplaces in Cardinia Shire

Local business and sports and recreation clubs are invited to a free evening edition of Together We Can’s Community Leadership Summit.

The event will address ways in which clubs and workplaces can create cultures and environments that increase participation and keep members safe and free from violence and abuse.

Participants will enjoy a free meal while they hear from keynote speakers, including:

The Men’s Project ’unpacking the man box’ is about supporting boys and men to live respectful, accountable, and fulfilling lives, free from violence and other harmful behaviours.

Phil Cleary: Culture and Environments that helps everyone thrive. Phil Cleary is an equality advocate, former teacher, and independent member of the Australian Parliament. Since the murder of his 25-year-old sister, Vicki, in 1987, Phil has been at the forefront of the campaign to stop violence against women.

The evening will also feature tailor-made presentations from WIRE, Worksafe and Monash Health.

WIRE – Let’s Talk! Get the knowledge and skills to deal with discriminatory situations by having safe, skilled, and courageous conversations.

Worksafe – Not in my workplace! Employers have an obligation to prevent and respond to work-related sexual harassment. Learn more about your rights and responsibilities and find support services.

Monash Health – Healthy Sports Clubs.

How clubs can commit to keeping members, volunteers, officials, and players safe and healthy in all areas of club life.

This special edition of Together We Can’s Community Summit will take place on Wednesday 1 June, 6pm – 9pm at the Cardinia Cultural Centre, 40 Lakeside Boulevard, Pakenham.
