A number of imitation firearms and ammunition have been seized during an early morning raid at a residential property in Officer.
Members from the Southern Metro Division 3 response unit and the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) swooped on the property in the early hours of Tuesday 7 January, executing a search warrant at 4.45am.
Officers were able to seize a total of seven imitation firearms, knuckle dusters and a large quantity of ammunition.
A 46-year-old Officer man, who was one of two occupants in the house during the warrant, was arrested and interviewed at the Narre Warren Police Station.
He was later charged with seven counts of possessing an imitation firearm, possessing cartridge ammunition without a license or permit and possessing a prohibited weapon.
The man was bailed with conditions and will appear at the Dandenong Magistrates Court in February.
