A FREE Christmas Day lunch is on for one and all at the Pakenham Senior Citizens Centre for the second year in a row.
Organisers Sue Johns and Deb Newey, with the support of Cardinia Shire Council, are encouraging all residents to come and spend the special day with their community.
The alcohol-free event is expected to cater for 150 people.
Ms Johns said the lunch wouldn’t be possible without the generous donations from the council and local businesses.
“I receive so much joy from giving to others and it is well worth the hard work when I see the smiling faces surrounding us on Christmas Day,” she said.
Ms Newey said they had been inundated with people wanting to volunteer their time on the day.
“We all enjoy the purpose of the day and want everyone to feel welcome regardless of their age, background, social standing or education,” she said.
“Come one, come all. Sue and I can’t stress enough how welcome everyone is to enjoy a fun, relaxed day and indulge in a delicious free meal together.”
To attend Christmas Day lunch, register your interest before 21 December at either Terry’s Discount Store in Main Street, Pakenham; Pakenham Opportunity Shop in Station Street; or the council offices in Henty Way.
The lunch will be held at Pakenham Senior Citizens Centre, 38-42 James Street, Pakenham on Sunday 25 December between 11.30am and 3pm.
