SOLAR panels, carbon emissions and wind turbines will all be talking points at the Sustainability Expo in Pakenham next month.
The Cardinia Shire Council will host its second annual event at the Cardinia Cultural Centre on Saturday 11 June and will include composting workshops and a performance by Vox Bandicoot.
Mayor George Blenkhorn said council was committed to encouraging residents to have good environmental practices.
“The Sustainability Expo is a great opportunity for community members to learn about their environmental impact and latest sustainability options available to them,” Cr Blenkhorn said. “Council is committed to plan and manage the natural and built environment for future generations.”
The expo is open from 10am to 3pm, with entry by gold coin donation and will run in conjunction with the Farmers’ Market.
“The expo aims to help Cardinia Shire residents consider the environmental impact of their daily life choices and work practices,” said Cr Blenkhorn. “Last year we had around 1000 people take advantage of the day and this year there are plans for an even greater range of stalls and exhibits for people to look over.”
