SHE might be from wintry cold Russia, but aspiring Endeavour Hills model Ella Romanova sure knows how to wear a swimsuit.
The 24-year-old receptionist is in the running to be named Zoo Weekly’s Real Girl winner after sending her photographs in to the men’s magazine.
Each week, hundreds of hopefuls submit their pictures to Zoo Weekly in the hope of appearing in its Real Girls segment.
The publication then selects the finalists and features the best five or six entrants every week. It is then up to readers to vote for their favourite Real Girl for the week via SMS.
The magazine featuring Ms Romanova came out on the newsstands on Monday with entrants in the running to win $200 and be featured in another edition.
Ms Romanova, who migrated from Russia 11 years ago, said she was keen to break into modelling.
She now does promotional work and regularly works as a grid girl at many racing car meets.
Ms Romanova said she hoped her magazine appearance would help boost her profile and help secure new opportunities. “I hope it will help me pick up more work,” she said.
Ms Romanova said her boyfriend and friends were extremely excited and supportive of her magazine appearance and had flooded her with text messages after it hit newsstands.
She said she did not mind posing for shoots and was thankful for Australia’s warmer weather. “You cannot really jump out in a bikini in Russia,” she said.
