The theft of the inflatable balloon, worth an estimated $6500, last Thursday angered the managing director of the Inflatable Event Company.
Police said the balloon was taken from the Kangan Drive site between 10am and 3pm and have called for any witnesses to come forward.
Mr Waddell has run the national company for 15 years and said this was the first theft of company goods in the City of Casey.
“It is not the first (theft), but the first in this area.
“Quite frankly, I do not know why someone would take it. If they put it up somewhere where it is visible, they will give themselves away and if they don’t put it up, what is the point of having it?
“I don’t know why they would steal it. I guess it was a prank.
“But this affects us and it affects the people on site trying to run a promotion.
“It is really disappointment all around,” he said.
Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to contact Narren Warren CIU on 9705 3111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
