MOTORBIKE enthusiasts revved their engines for last Sunday’s 2008 Woodstock Dirt Bike Masters tournament at Pakenham Racecourse.
More than 3000 spectators flocked to the three round dirtbike masters series, which combined motocross racing with freestyle demonstrations, from 10am to 4.30pm.
The thumper cross style event attracted more than 360 entries in the 12 race categories.
Some of Australia’s best motocross racers turned up to the event including Berwick rider Cameron Taylor and Pearcedale’s Brent Landman and brothers Kade and Chase Mosig.
The Father’s Day event marked the first time motorcycles have been allowed inside Pakenham Racecourse.
Senior Sergeant Trevor Teer from the Pakenham Police Station said police were very pleased with the well-behaved crowd.
“There were no issues on the day,” Sen Sgt Teer said.
Pakenham’s Traffic Management Unit, Regional Traffic Task Unit and uniform police attended the event.
