Trust puts its faith in seven

SEVEN students were presented with a PB Ronald Trust award at the trust’s annual dinner last week.
The trust was set up in 1991 to perpetuate the memory of former shire president and community stalwart the late Peter Ronald and to assist young people studying agriculture, horticulture and local government.
This year, Stephanie Pankhurst, Melissa Crutchfield, Aaron Cockram, Nick Newham, Daniel Noonan, Richard Kruithof and Brendan Short received the 2008 bursaries to assist with their studies.
Cardinia Shire CEO Garry McQuillan was guest speaker for the night and talked about the growth of the Pakenham region and upcoming developments within the shire.
The trust has now provided financial assistance for almost 70 residents since it was established 17 years ago.
