Cash improves outlook

THE Cardinia Foundation recently presented more than $25,000 in grants to three local organisations which provide services for those in need.
Grants were given to Outlook, South East Palliative Care and Windemere Youth Services at a Friends of the Foundation lunch at the Cardinia Cultural Centre on 29 February.
Outlook received a grant of $7400 for the purchase of an electric wheelchair to assist with the mobility of clients at their community centre as well as a mobile lifting hoist to aid with the movement of clients.
Outlook administration manager Jenny Stone, who accepted the grant, said the items would be of great value to Outlook staff and clients.
South East Palliative Care director Bruce Greenland accepted $12,500 for the purchase of portable computer equipment to assist nurses and clients with the provision of home support services, while Windemere Youth Services was given a $5600 grant.
Marketing manager Kevin Noonan said the grant would be used to provide young clients with music therapy, an important program within the organisation’s youth support and development services.
Funds for the grants were raised from an auction held at last year’s fundraising dinner.
