Laconic lefty cuts loose

DEEP CREEK GOLF CLUB

The sun finally decided to shine over the Deep Creek Golf Club on Saturday as players took park in an individual Stableford competition.

Scoring was impressive with laconic lefty Robin McCrae (17) heading the field with a great score of 42 points.

McCrae needed his terrific score to be the headline act for the day, with Dean Jones (11) hot on his hammer with 40 Stableford points.

Other players to sign off on impressive rounds included Geoff Percival 39, Grant Wilson 37, David Leek 37, Scott Irwin 36, Graeme Durran 36, Glenn Rees 35, John McDonald 35 and Noel Bonne 35, who all won balls down the line.

Nearest the pin went to David Leek (8m) on the 16th.

A small field of golfers took part in a nine-hole competition on Sunday, with Andrew Hale (13) scoring 15 points to take home the choccies.

The mid-week competition this week is Stableford while players will battle it out on Saturday for the December Monthly Medal.
