A CELEBRATION of all abilities will be held at Cardinia LiFE next week.
The Cardinia Shire Council’s A Celebration of Ability Day will feature a range of free activities including snorkelling, swimming races and wheelchair sports.
A Go For Your Life van will also be on hand to provide residents with ideas on getting active, while celebrities will square off in a wheelchair race.
The event coincides with International Day of People with a Disability.
Cardinia Shire mayor Kate Lempriere said the day would be a fantastic opportunity for people of all abilities to enjoy activities they may have not tried before.
She said this year’s event would focus on wellbeing, inclusiveness, learning and healthy lifestyles.
“Everyone will have a chance to be active and involved,” Cr Lempriere said.
“Celebration of Ability Day in Cardinia Shire represents an opportunity for us all to celebrate the richness and diversity of the Cardinia Shire community.
“It also provides a forum to showcase the abilities of people with a disability.’’
The all abilities celebration will run from 10am to noon on Friday 30 November at Cardinia LiFE, Princes Highway, Pakenham.
Entry is free.
