EACH November the residents of Pakenham’s Evergreen Retirement Village get together and set up their clubhouse to hold a market, which is now in its ninth year.
This is a fun, relaxing family day with something for everyone.
You will be greeted under the verandah with a sausage sizzle, a farmers market, loads of hand-made wooden toys and the smell of freshly brewed coffee from the coffee van.
Local traders and residents will be selling cakes, chocolates, crystals, jewellery, handmade soaps, baby clothes, teddy bears and much more.
The freshly baked cakes and biscuits are always a winner with residents presenting such a variety it’s hard to choose.
There are plenty of crafts that they have made throughout the year.
The market is a great place to do Christmas shopping, and this year is a great variety of stalls included, with prices starting from three dollars.
To ensure the success of the market residents have been inviting friends and family, putting details on their Facebook pages, giving advertising posters to the local businesses that they patronise as well as letter box drops.
The residents are community-minded and enjoy supporting the activities at the village.
