Skill drills keep young sports on their feet

MORE than 200 youngsters bibbed up and put their best attacking feet forward last week when they got the chance to train with gun netballer Bianca Chatfield.
The crowds included children from across the City of Casey who were excited to meet a couple of their netball idols.
The Commonwealth Games gold medallist held training sessions with the Mac Pack Netball Super Clinic on Friday 3 October.
Chatfield and her Melbourne Vixens star team-mate Karyn Bailey put the young guns through their paces and showed them a bit of what it takes to become the best.
The super clinic is part of the McDonald’s Mac Pack initiative, which aims to get kids active and on their feet.
Chatfield said it was a thrill to educate so many up-and-coming netballers about the game.
“Being a Mac Pack ambassador is a great opportunity for me to share my passion for sport and healthy living with aspiring juniors,” she said.
“We had a lot of fun teaching them new skills and techniques that will help them with their game.”
McDonald’s Cranbourne North licensee Ian Seal said the super clinic was part of McDonald’s commitment to encouraging junior sport participation.
