AMERICAN doughnut giant Krispy Kreme is setting up home in Narre Warren.
The area’s worst-kept secret was revealed yesterday morning when the News received an invitation to come and celebrate the start of construction at the first Melbourne store on Wednesday, 1 March.
Rumours have been circulating since last year that the doughnut chain was planning to open its first store in Narre Warren.
The new store will be located outside Westfield Fountain Gate, with entry from Narre Warren North Road.
The company already has stores in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Asia, Europe and New South Wales.
Kripy Kreme was founded in 1937 and the company now produces more than three million doughnuts a day and over 1.3 billion a year worldwide.
Among doughnut lovers, Krispy Kreme’s original glazed, chocolate iced custard-filled, cinnamon apple and glazed devil’s donuts are the best in the world.
