Narre bowls a break

NARRE Warren Bowls Club hosted several events over the Christmas and new year holiday period with keen competition between members.
Results of competition before the Christmas weekend were led by indoor bowls winners V. Khoury and D. Smith on Monday night, 19 December.
On Tuesday, 20 December the Victorian Ladies’ Bowling Association pennant side played Hampton Park and recorded a convincing win, 108 to 62.
G. Hocking, A. Mortimer, M. Van Vugt, N. Pugh (skip) won 37 to 14.
E. Naismith, J. Bretherton, J. Naughton, E. Gibb (skip) lost 13 to 21.
D. McGann, T. Henneman, D. Farrell, S. Bell (skip) won 33 to 15.
M. Clancy, M. Horton, N. Dickie, E. Arnott (skip) won 25 to 12.
On Wednesday, 21 December, the open triples winners were J. Boswell, J. Morriss and J. Hickman (skip), with the runners-up R. Naughton, J. Naughton and E. Gibb (skip).
Best last game winners were S. Bell, B. Brewster and N. Bell (skip).
Two events were held after Christmas with the first on Wednesday, 28 December.
The three bowl pairs winners were P. O’Day and J. Van Vugt (skip) with the runners-up A. Barry and N. Bell (skip). Best last game winners were N. Hosmer and S. Bell (skip).
Monday, 2 January saw an indoor night bowls competition, with the winners V. Khoury, F. Khoury and I. Adcock (skip).
VLBA pennant bowls resume on Tuesday, 17 January at the Dandenong Club.
RVBA competition resumes on Saturday, 21 January with practice rinks at home starting on Saturday, 14 January at 12.30pm.
