EUMEMMERRING MP Gordon Rich-Phillips has been promoted as part of a recent Liberal Party State Shadow Cabinet reshuffle.
Mr Rich-Phillips said he was delighted with his new responsibilities after being named the new Shadow Minister for Finance and the TAC in late December.
Mr Rich-Phillips lost the manufacturing and export folio as part of the reshuffle but retained his role as Shadow Minister for the Commonwealth Games.
He said he was looking forward to the new challenge and that he was headed for some ‘exciting times’ with the upcoming Commonwealth Games.
He said his new finance role would tie in well with the Commonwealth Games portfolio.
“Melbourne is very excited about the Commonwealth Games but it will be interesting to see when it is over and the bills start to come in,” he said.
“The government must be accountable for all the public’s money they have spent and they are showing disturbing trends in their spending.
“There is a need for more public disclosure and it will be interesting to see the figures after the Commonwealth Games.”
