NARRE Warren Rotary Club member Ray Stewart has been busy in recent months.
In July, Mr Stewart took up the position as District 9820 Governor and, as part of his official duties, he and wife Shelley have now visited 51 Rotary clubs.
These visits culminated in a visit to Mr Stewart’s home club of Narre Warren last Wednesday.
He also gave an informative presentation about the many aspects of Rotary International as part of the organisation’s key theme service above self.
Mr Stewart’s presentation was about the spirit of cooperation and continuity, with emphasis on programs such as literacy, water management and improving the public image of Rotary.
He also discussed humanitarian and educational programs and the many services offered to youth.
Narre Warren President Ross Chudleigh and his wife Liz welcomed more than 40 Rotarians and guests.
Casey mayor Neil Lucas, past district governors Ian Pickering and his wife Lynne, and Ray Martin and his wife Judy, together with assistant governor of the Dandenong Valley Group, Peter Faulkner and his wife Lois, also attended.
Rotary District 9820 takes in southeastern Victoria, stretching from Dandenong, the Mornington Peninsula, Phillip Island and throughout the Latrobe Valley, south and east Gippsland.
