FORGET player comfort levels… its spectator comfort levels that have improved dramatically at Toomuc Reserve after the Pakenham Lions Netball Club opened its new shed/pavilion on Saturday.
The club celebrated the opening with an afternoon tea for life members, along with past and present committee, who worked tirelessly in gaining grants and were involved in the design of the facility.
Club president, Nicole Foss, thanked previous committee members who attended the afternoon tea for their forward thinking, which has meant the club now has this excellent shed, which is the length of the courts, and provides ample undercover seating for officials, players and spectators alike.
“The next objective the club has is to fundraise and apply for further council grants to have stadium style seating built, so that speculators can sit comfortably while watching their netball on a Saturday,” club secretary Marg Jones said.
“This will allow us, as a club, to cater for even greater attendance in this growing popular sport of netball.
“The current netball committee would also like to acknowledge the hard work and fantastic support of the football club president, Steve Moloney, who played such a significant role in finally getting the shed over the line.”
Pakenham’s next home game will be against Hampton Park on Saturday 9 August.
