Predators and Cheers the last two standing

Grand finalists in the South West Gippsland Dart League have been decided after Cheers scored a nail-biting 8-6 victory over Just Social in the preliminary final at the Nar Nar Goon Hotel.

The hard-fought triumph sees Cheers progress to the biggest night of the season, where an imposing Predators outfit awaits.

Predators and Cheers will soon be sick of the sight of each other, with the grand final engagement the third exchange between the teams in recent times.

Predators locked away top spot in the final round of the regular season with a 10-5 victory, before repeating the dose with an 8-5 win over Cheers in the second semi-final.

Cheers have been in both games up to their eye-balls and will fancy their chances of a turnaround.

While Predators and Cheers will battle it out for the Premiership Cup, Mud Rats will take on Dart Vaders in the Don Brown Memorial Shield – a secondary finals series for teams that finish from fifth to eighth on the ladder.

Mud Rats booked their place with a thrilling 8-7 win over Gembrook last week, while Dart Vaders joined Mud Rats in the big dance by defeating Gembrook 8-5 in the preliminary final.

It sets up a huge clash between the two teams, with a classy Mud Rats team slightly favoured to win.
