Teamwork talks for Cheers

It was business as usual after a week’s hiatus in the South West Gippsland Dart League with Cheers, Predators and Snipers continuing to separate themselves from the remainder of the competition.

Cheers took on the tough challenge of overcoming perennial finalist Just Social in round eight, and came out smelling of roses after a clinical 11-4 victory.

Shane Barnett was the star of the show for Cheers, throwing six tons on the night, while Liam, Ant and Hank also hammered the treble 20.

Just Social battled hard, with 4×4 and Tony throwing six and four tons respectively; with Tony throwing a 180.

Predators joined Cheers as the only undefeated teams this season after a devastating 14-1 success over AAA Dartz.

AAA was hamstrung by unavailability to key players, but Predators showed no mercy and closed in for the kill.

Jordan threw a 108-pegout for Predators, while Donny showed great character for AAA on a tough night at the office.

Number-one Dean Gibbs was once again on fire for Snipers in a hard-fought 9-6 win over Bullseyes.

Gibbs threw eight tons on the night, including a brilliant 180, to take his tally of tons to an impressive 55 for the season.

Chris Richardson was also at her high-scoring best for Snipers, while Chris Burke had a night out for Bullseyes, throwing five tons and a 180.

In other games this week, Dart Vaders made it back-to-back wins with a 10-5 victory over Generals, while Mud Rats made it three-straight with an 11-4 win over Dart Attack.

Michael threw five tons for Mud Rats, who have now climbed to fifth place on the ladder.

And Gembrook is a game clear in sixth place after a nail-biting 8-7 triumph over Dart Devils.

The Brookers certainly know how to win the close ones after winning by the same score in their last match-up with Bullseyes.

This was a tough one to swallow for Dart Devils, who have now lost four in a row after winning their opening three games of the season.
