Falcons and Titans claim glory

Endeavour Hills has put the perfect exclamation mark on an undefeated season in Southern Division 1 Women’s football with a dominant 83-point grand final victory over Casey Thunder.

The Thunder kept things competitive in the first half, but the elastic band broke after the main break; the Falcons piling on 10 goals to one to win 14.8(92) to 1.3(9).

Alyssa Weston was superb for the Falcons with five goals, while skipper Nicola Weston kicked three and Brooke Borchard and Tabatha Jones chimed in with a couple each.

Eden Tone kicked the only goal for Thunder; who did well to make the granny from third place.

In Division 2, Berwick Springs has a first trophy to love and to cherish after the Titans scored a 4.7(31) to 3.3(21) triumph over Skye.

The Titans started their existence just three years ago in Outer East, with the move to Southern this year proving a great step forward for the club.

Emily Browning, who kicked two goals on the weekend, and skipper Taylah Laxon, are just two of the players that deserve success after sticking with the Titans through the good times and the bad.

In Outer East women’s football; Mt Evelyn and Warburton Wesburn rubber-stamped their season-long dominance with stress-free grand final victories.

Mt Evelyn won the Division 1 flag with a 6.11(47) to 1.4(10) victory over Upwey-Tecoma, while Lilian Pagels kicked four goals and Scarlett Henderson three in Warburton’s 14.10(94) to 3.3(21) triumph over Emerald.
