Bunyip got the better of Pakenham 2-1 in their derby in the State League 5 competition.
It’s Pakenham’s second consecutive loss, halting somewhat the momentum they had started to build in the second half of the season.
Hamza Ahmed found the back of the net after nine minutes, but, as has often been an issue for Pakenham in 2025, they conceded an immediate equaliser, before both teams settled into the game.
Bunyip eventually struck the go-ahead goal at the 83rd minute to secure victory in a physical battle which attracted five yellow cards.
Pakenham remains sixth on the table following the result, but the gap between themselves and fifth spot has been stretched to five points ahead of a match against second-placed Mount Martha this weekend.
