DROUIN GOLF
It was the C Grade golfers that lit up Drouin Golf and Country Club on Saturday with the two best scores for the day from a field of 133 players that contested the Stableford competition.
Tony Laycock put on a clinic in the C Grade event, winning with 43 points while Mitch Dyer came in runner up with 40 points.
Dean Jones led A Grade with 38 points while Matt Long was runner up with 35 points.
B Grade saw Duart Perrin win with 36 points and Marcus Cameron came runner up on a countback with 35 points.
Garry Burns was the winner of D Grade with 39 points and Lucas Green was runner up with 37 points.
E Grade winner was Samuel Werner with 39 points ahead of Steve Henning who was runner up on a countback with 37 points.
Samuel Werner was the winner of the Super Six with 16 points.
Down the lines went to Roger Barnett 37, Rob Brew 36, Brian Edwards 35, Adam Clark 35, Jordan Wyatt 35, Richard Snare 35, Peter Jolley 35, Basil Bate 35, Shane Davidson 34, Mark Gould 34, Phil Thomson 34, Ricky Davies 34, Graeme Steel 34, Nathan Thomson 34, Roger Crow 34, Darren Wolffenbuttel 34, Phil Adams 34 and Dave Cavanagh 34.
Nearest the pins went to 2nd Ricky Davies (Target Hole), 5th Dave Cavanagh (Pro Pin), 8th Bernie Rieniets (Commercial Hotel), 10th Paul Matthews (Sharkey’s Barbershop) and 14th Dean Jones.
On Wednesday, 101 players contested the stableford competition where Zach Bambridge shot an impressive five-under-the-card to claim A Grade on a countback from runner up Ken Cooper with both players scoring 38 points.
B Grade was won by Chris Bogart with 39 points and Craig Harris finished runner up with 37 points. Good mates Basil Bate and Graeme English found it hard to separate in C Grade with both players having 38 points.
Basil claimed the chocolates on a countback.
D Grade saw Ron Tomasetti win with 37 points, while Geoff Closter came in runner up on a countback with 36 points.
The Super Six saw nine players finish on 14 points, but it was Basil Bate who held them all off winning on a countback.
Down the lines went to Neil Wyatt 37, Phil Thomson 37, Shane Dwyer 36, Richard Snare 36, Trevor Hine 36, Mitch Dyer 36, Darren Wolffenbuttel 36, Rich De Jonge 36, Bill Toogood 35, Duart Perrin 35, Caiden Silvarich 35, Sam Palmer 35, Jordan Wyatt 34 and Andrew Harris 34.
Nearest the pins went to 5th Roger Crow, 8th Craig Harris, 10th Mike Duddy and 14th Zach Bambridge.
Sunday’s Stableford competition featured 23 players and the winner for the round was Kyle Huggett with 42 points.
Michael O’Brien was runner up with 41 points, while down the line balls went to Cooper Brown 38, Dillan Jones 36 and Nathan Thomson 36.
Thursday’s 9 Hole Medley Stableford competition was won by Leanne Pollard with 22 points.
Helen Moon was runner up with 20 points and Gary Surman 18 and Anne Neilson 16 won a ball down the line.
Glenda Warren was nearest to the pin on the fifth.
Stroud Trophy
Over the last two Saturday’s, qualifying for the Stroud Trophy Final was conducted.
This coming Saturday, June 28, Duart Perrin and Darren Wolffenbuttel will play a 4BBB Match Play against Tony Laycock and Chris Wettenhall.

Upcoming competitions this week are Stableford on Saturday, Sunday and Thursday, while Wednesday players will be playing 4BBB Par.
DROUIN LADIES
Drouin women played the Doris Chambers 4BBB Stableford event on June 17.
Conditions were very unpleasant to start with, reducing the numbers significantly, however, the sun did eventually shine on the brave souls who competed.
The winners were Leanne Pollard (10) and Janet Drummond (40) with 32 points and runners up were Sharon Rippon (16) and Michelle Fairlie (24) with 29 points.
Congratulations to Leanne and Janet who now go on to represent Drouin in the State Final at Yering Meadows in October.
Saturday June 21 was an Individual Stableford for women and the winner was Valerie Crow (28) with 41 points followed by Kay Grieve (35) with 33 points.
This week is a Par event, followed by the July Monthly Medal on July 1.
July 8 is a Secret Partners Stableford event.
