Despite overnight rain and strong winds, a mammoth field of 146 players contested the Stableford competition at Drouin Golf and Country Club on Saturday.

Chad McKie led A Grade with 39 points with Shane Dwyer scored 36 points to finish runner up.

B Grade was won by Glen Ward with 37 points ahead of runner up Craig Cottier with 34 points. Andrew Heagney was the winner of C Grade with 34 points, while Peter Steer was runner up with 33 points.

D Grade saw Rod Gardner top the grade with 37 points and Bruce Salmon come runners up with 35 points.

Chaz Henderson won E Grade with 37 points and David Woods came in runners up on a countback with 34 points.

Dean Anastasiu was the Super Six winner with 16 points.

Down the lines went to Kevin Thorpe 35, Zach Bambridge 35, Dean Anastasiu 34, Luke Vanderligt 34, Garry Burns 34, Andrew Stevens 34, Mick Warry 34, John Piner 34, David Mellords 34, Steve Henning 33, Andrew Pomeroy 33, Frank Clebney 33, Marty Green 32, Brett Dyer 32, Chris Perry 32, Jason Fritzlaff 32, Shane Wilkinson 32, Scott McKinnon 31 and Jock Granger 31.

Nearest the pins went to 5th Shane Dwyer (Commercial Hotel), 8th Ken Cooper (Sharkey’s Barbershop), 10th Tim Lawrence, 11th Dean Anastasiu (Target Hole) and 14th Ben Kelleher (Pro Pin).

On Wednesday, 91 players teed it up in the midweek Stableford competition.

Gilbert Davis was the winner of A Grade with 38 points, while Alan Storer was runner up with 37 points and also the Super Six winner with 16 points.

Warren Cook won B Grade on a countback from Graham Rawson after both players had 37 points. Peter Fusinato was the C Grade winner with 37 points and Todd Griffiths was runner up with 36 points on a countback.

Down the lines went to Nathan Thomson 36, Marc Alberts 36, Bruce Tucker 36, Brett Dyer 36, David Coombe 35, Rod Gardner 35, Garry Burns 35, Ray Haley 35, Daniel Anderson 35, Luke Vanderligt 35, Darren Hayes 35 and Mike Duddy 35.

Nearest the pins went to 5th Rob McCrae, 8th Ramon Dyke, 10th Alan Storer and 14th Jeff Dalzotto.

On Sunday, 20 players competed in the Medley competition.

Winner for the day was Jordan Chapman with 40 points and Ben Smith was runner up with 35 points on a countback.

Down the lines went to Callum McKenzie 35, Adam Voumard 34 and Matthew Carlson 34.

On Thursday, the nine hole medley Stableford competition consisted of 20 players.

Glenn Robinson was the winner with 20 points and Robyn Carville was runner up on a countback with 19 points.

Down the lines went to Rob Frederickson and Lea Caldwell with 19 points on a countback, while nearest the pins went to Dave Bennett on the fifth and Glenda Warren on the eighth.

Autumn Amble

Over the last two Saturdays the Autumn Amble competition has been run with Chad McKie coming out the winner of the Stableford Aggregate event with an impressive 79 points; seven points clear of his nearest rival.

Upcoming competitions are Stableford midweek, Saturday and Sunday and a 9 Hole Stableford on Thursday.

DROUIN LADIES

The Drouin Ladies played a stableford event last Tuesday.

It was a very cold start to the day but once the sun came through and the frost disappeared it was a great day for golf.

A Grade winner was Leanne Pollard with 34 points and runner up was Michelle Fairlie with 32 points.

B Grade winner was Susie Menzel with 36 points and runner up was Liz Jensz with 35 on points a countback.

Down the line balls went to Kay Grieve with 35, Mary Tymensen 33 and Margaret Murray with 33.

Nearest the Pins went to Michelle Fairlie on the 5th, Vanessa Campbell – second shot on the 8th – Angela Greenall on the 10th, Monica Gidley on the 14th and Glenda Warren – second shot on the 17th.

This week is the Anthony Bambridge 4BBB event.
