One of the most unique achievements in community sport played out at Cora Lynn recently with Monica Schade proudly sharing the court with her three daughters.
The Cobras were hosting Kooweerup in round five of the West Gippsland Football Netball Competition (WGFNC) and were leading 30-8 in their A Grade clash at half time.
Bibs were then swapped over, with daughters Miley (C), Tyra (GA) and Lexis (WA) soon listening to the instructions of A Grade coach Lou Walsh with mum Monica (WD) also suited up for action.
The Schade family then took four of the seven positions on the court and won the third quarter to help the Cobras to a history-making 50-24 victory.
Cora Lynn acknowledged the magnificent achievement on its Facebook page.
“This milestone highlights not only the girls’ playing ability but their contribution to the club and their community,” the statement began.
“Having well-known and adored parents at the club in John and Joan Hester, who are both life members respectfully within the football and netball club, as well as siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews that are all associated with Cora Lynn, it goes without saying this club runs in their blood.
“This has been a goal of Mons for a long time, being able to step on the court with her daughters and on Saturday it became a reality; a true testament to her dedication to netball, her health and her family.
“We’re incredibly proud of the netball players and people that these girls are; all have their own individual traits that make them so loved at the club.
“The passion they collectively have for netball and the club, is highlighted by their success and contribution.
“It goes without saying that this is an incredible achievement, possibly once in a lifetime, for the Schade (Hester) family as well as the netball club.
“Congratulations on being able to complete this incredible historical moment and we look forward to many more historical moments on and off the court.”
