GARFIELD GOLF

This week’s golfing highlight was provided by regular Thursday visitor and five-marker Frank Hyett who scored an incredible tenth career ace on the fourth hole at Garfield.

It was Hyett’s first ever hole-in-one at Garfield, adding to his amazing nine perfect strikes at other clubs.

Whilst we are on Thursday, another of Garfield’s best and regular winners is Harry Elyasie who claimed victory again with a great A Grade winning score of 68/65 nett.

The 83-year-old veteran John Roberts also had a great time of it by winning the B Grade event with his round of 81/nett 66.

Stuart Kent won the C Grade event, also with a round of 89/nett 66.

A final score of nett 71 was the number needed to finish in the money.

The second and final round of the 2025 4BBB Par Championship took place on Saturday with a field of 56 pairs participating in cold and showery conditions.

Best in for the day with a brilliant round was Michal Jeffs and Matt Young with a score of +13, two shots to the better of Steve Bertolini and David Werner and a further one-shot margin back to Hank Adams and Sepp Krummenacher in third place.

A final score of +6 was required to feature in the prizemoney.

Both Hayden MacDonald and Sam Collins scored eagle threes on the par five 17th hole.

So, that leaves us with the final results after the two rounds and it was the pairing of Stephen Pimm and Sam Collins who came out on top with a 36-hole total of +14.

Pimm and Collins won by a countback from Greg and Damien Needham.

The aforementioned Adams and Krummenacher finished overall third with a total of +13.
