All the focus this week was on Kooweerup’s midweek pennant contest against Karingal with both Saturday games being called off due to wet weather.

Kooweerup shared the points with Yamala Park in Division 6 and with Belvedere in Division 8.

It was another ‘tough’ day at the office for the Tuesday Pennant team with a 48-62 loss to Karingal. We knew that with the calibre of players that we lost at the end of last season that Division 4 may have been a big ask; but some results from last week are showing some promising signs.

A 21-15 win was a very good result for Jim Jenkins, Charles Poulsen, Stephen Payne and David Prosser.

A similar score, but reversed, was the end result for Joy Jenkins, Jacqui Butera, Gary King and John Harrower losing 17-22.

And always battling were Margaret Royle, Mary Masters, Iain Caig and Maggie Prosser who were comfortably defeated 10-25.

Kooweerup continues to play some first-year players who will no doubt benefit from the experience. If they do not get disheartened their games will rapidly improve.
