Storm circling over Cardinia

It is only a couple of years old but Cardinia Storm Hockey Club is quickly becoming a great success story in the world of sport in Cardinia Shire.

Based at Beaconhills College in Pakenham, the Storm began its journey in 2023 with a women’s team only, before adding a senior men’s outfit to its ranks in 2024.

And the club’s junior program is also making great strides, with under 10, 12 and 14 teams currently competing in Hockey Victoria’s South East Summer Competition.

Storm participates against teams from Bayside, Casey Cannons, Frankston and Mornington Peninsula, with clubs taking turns to host particular rounds of the season.

It was Storm’s chance to shine recently, with all clubs converging on Beaconhills College for a great day of hockey action.

Gazette photographer Stewart Chambers was on hand to capture the young stars of the future enjoying their game in the under 12s.
