Great day on the Greens for Gippy

Another great day today as our family of bowlers met up at Lang Lang to once again fight it out for team of the week.

We were welcomed by Pauline and John with Peter and David arranging the teams.

It was great to see everyone either on time or early, which really does make it easier for our selectors to prepare the teams.

The weather was cool but pleasant with the sun shining through the clouds from time to time, and virtually no wind for the day.

Lots of laughter around the green as the game progressed, but what a display of excellent bowling from all quarters.

One or two wrong bias bowls for the day, but our charity tin is full and close to overflowing.

At the end of the day we have winners and we have the rest of us.

And today’s winners on a score of 38 were:

Jenny Smith (L), John Nicholson (S), Sue Stansfield (3).

Runners Up on a score of 35 were:

Lou Capsulis (L), Margaret Hoy (3), Vern Elliott (S).

Best One Game Today on a score of 18 went to:

Peter McWilliams (S), Bev Elliott (2), Phil Wright (3), Ron Hughes (L).

Once again we thank Peter for looking after our thirsty bowlers behind the bar.

Also Bev in the kitchen as well as David, Jenny, Vern and Laurie for cleaning up when everyone went home.

Next week we will meet up once again at Corinella to continue our weekly challenge.

Always a fun day at Corinella so please everyone show up on time as we expect large numbers.

Until then we wish all our players good luck with their pennant teams on Saturday and Tuesday.

Until next week, have fun and stay safe.

– Laurie Bell
