Snipers set sights on glory

Snipers have confirmed their status as the team to beat in the South West Gippsland Dart League by qualifying first for the upcoming grand final.

They have taken the most direct route to the decider, and secured a significant mental edge over their nearest competitor in the process, having knocked-over Predators 8-6 in a thriller.

Predators downed Snipers when they last met in the home-and-away season by one point, but Snipers turned the tide on Tuesday.

It’s now two losses in their last three outings for Predators, having been upset in round 26 by Cheers.

The two will come face-to-face for the right to face Snipers in the grand final, after Cheers took care of business against Mud Rats in an 8-2 victory.

In the battle for the Don Brown Shield, Fore has experienced a stunning revival after failing to field a team last week.

Fore eliminated 26ers from the competititon by sneaking home in a one-point win.

They’ll tackle an out-of-sorts Gembrook for the chance to qualify for a remarkable grand final, after Gembrook lost to 8-4 to Just Social in the other semi-final.

Gembrook is winless in its last three contests, having not tasted victory in over a month after surrendering a top-five position on the table.

It promises to be a tight contest, with Gembrook prevailing by one point in their most recent meeting.
