Predators have Snipers in their sights

A showdown between the two best sides in the competition will determine who progresses straight through to the grand final of the South West Gippsland Dart League in two weeks’ time.

Snipers and Predators will go toe-to-toe for the third time in 2024, with Predators seeking to prove that round 24’s upset of the league’s benchmark was no fluke.

It was the only loss that Snipers experienced this year and therefore makes Predators the last team they would have wanted to face, however the conquerors squandered crucial momentum in the final round of the season with a 9-6 loss to Cheers.

Predators managed to turn the tables in the opening week of the finals, downing Cheers 8-3 to set up the huge semi-final showdown.

Cheers fell well short of the previous week’s success against the same opponent, and will tackle Mud Rats in the other semi-final to keep their season alive.

The second division and the battle for the Don Brown Memorial Shield, meanwhile, saw Railway fall off the tracks.

26ers eliminated them easily with an 8-1 victory, while an undermanned Fore was beaten by a former champion, in Just Social.

Gembrook awaits Just Social with a spot in the grand final up for grabs, with 26ers to face Fore in a do-or-die contest.
