Rain and wind can’t stop good scores from rolling in

LANG LANG GOLF

Persistent rain fell hard for most of the day at Lang Lang Golf Club on Saturday but it failed to dampen spirits with some remarkable scores being carded on the day.

Steve Fuller (21) looked on track for a record score, being +8 through nine holes, but eased up on the back nine to finish +5 and earn second place in B Grade.

Tony Ambrus (10) kept his hot run going to take out A Grade with +5, while Glen Viney shot the best score of the day, +6, to win B Grade.

Bec Hendrix (44) played fantastic golf to win C Grade with +3, while a score -2 won a ball down the line.

Thursday

The wind continued and greens have been cored but Ben Hall (16) was not bothered taking out division one with a fantastic score of 41 points.

David Wylie (22) also got the putter hot on bumpy greens with a respectable score of 36 points to win Division 2.

A score of 31 points was required to win a ball.

Nearest the pins went to J Ingram 5th, C Maclean 9th, R Volk 12th and N Stafford 15th.

Competitions this week are all Stableford; on Thursday, Friday (Public Holiday), Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday.
