O’Connor puts down a marker with 36 points at Lang lang

On a very miserable and wet Saturday at Lang Lang Golf Club; 87 brave players faced the conditions and some played great golf with Perry O’Connor (9) taking out Division 1 with 36 points.

Neil Grant (19) took out Division 2 with 38 points and Adam Forster (36) was best in Division 3 with 37points.

A score of 30 points was good enough for a ball down the line and nearest the pins went to B Kearns 3rd, D Gude and J Gillespie 5th, G Sosenko and T Winter 9th, G Wigham 12th and R Marshall and I Stewart on the 15th.

Tuesday

Tuesday saw the ‘MI Score app’ go live as well as Daryl Barker doing Daryl Barker (11) things with another midweek win with 38 points taking out Division 1.

Chris Kelsall (23) was solid on the greens to win Division 2 with 38 points and nearest the pins were won by R Garrett 5th, B Ross 9th, A Stirling 12th and F Chiu 15th; while 33 points got you a ball down the line.

Wednesday

Corrine Nancarrow (28) grinded out a solid score and victory with 34 points in windy and cold conditions.

Nearest the pins went to H Payne 9th and A Schellekens 12th and 27points got a ball down the line.

Thursday

The sun was out which saw a huge field of 87 take to the course but one player stood out and that was Rod Cameron (11) breaking his age and taking out Division 1 with 39 points.

Another great man at the club, Vern Hall (28), won Division 2 with 38points.

Nearest the pins went to D Hayes 5th, D Barker 9th, P O’Connor 12th and C Clarke 15th and 31points got a ball down the line.

The greens were cored on Monday and Tuesday this week, but competitions will still go ahead on Thursday (Stableford/2BBB), Saturday (Par), Sunday (Stableford) and Tuesday (Stableford).
