Tough night for Pakenham against ladder leaders

Rosebud was too strong for Pakenham United on Saturday night, with the top-placed team winning 5-0 thanks to a classy start.

Adding insult to injury, Pakky finished with 10 men against their stronger opponents as star Daniel Vigilanti was red-carded.

They’ll be looking to bounce back against sixth-placed Mount Eliza, which sit sixth on the ladder but just four points clear of 10th-placed Pakenham and present as an opportunity to make a statement after a tough fortnight.

Meanwhile, Endeavour Hills missed a golden opportunity to close the gap on the top four, drawing 2-2 with bottom-placed Cleeland, forced to claw its way back from a 2-0 deficit at halftime.

Bunyip did well to secure a 3-3 draw with second-placed Seaford, with Dion Pavlic finding the back of the net twice, while Casey went down 2-0 to Noble.
