GARFIELD GOLF
The highlight at Garfield Golf Club was an easy find this week with 76-year-old Ash Graham shooting his age off the stick on Monday.
Playing off his handicap of 11, Graham returned a score of 65 nett; which translated to 40 stableford points and a four-shot win in A Grade over Jim Accettura.
Graham now joins Brian Tindal and Des Kerr as the only three players to have shot or bettered their age in the last 30 years.

Saturday was a game of single stableford which was played in fine and mild conditions and was attended by a field of 142 players.
A final score of 32 points was required to finish in the prize money.
The A Grade event was decided via a three-way countback with Kevan McMillan getting the win from Phil Williams and Stephen Barrett with a score of 38 points.
Brian Webster, currently enjoying a hot run of form, got the B Grade win with a handicap round of 36 points.
Greg Nicholls won the C Grade event, also with a round of 38 points, whilst Brett Hughes had the day’s best round of 40 points to win the D Grade event.
Matt Van Der Horst had 77 off the stick whilst Peter McNeish had 76 gross and Harry Elyasie had 77 off the stick.
In a difficult day for scoring, now becoming the norm as we approach the winter season, just 11 birdies were scored for the day on the par threes.
On Thursday a field of 97 presented to the starter with Trevor Male returning to the winners’ list in A Grade via a countback from Darren Grayson with a round of 40 points.
Frank Hyett had 74 off the stick whilst Kevan McMillan continued his good week with a round of 77 off the bat.
Jim Accettura won the B Grade event with a round of 40 points, whilst Ted Schreuder had the day’s best round by some margin winning the D Grade event with a nice score of 43 points.
This week is the June Monthly Medal.
