Phil’s team is made of the Wright stuff

Members of the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group were out in force last week with a great turnout of 36 bowlers turning up at San Remo for the weekly challenge.

The day was fairly cold, the wind was not too bad, but enough to make some of the day fairly difficult for a few of our bowlers.

Luckily no rain fell so we managed to get two full games in with no interruptions.

Lots of laughter was heard around the green as well as our usual friendly banter, which is always a joy with such good friendly bowlers.

As usual we had some great scores which meant that we had to have a count back to decide the winners.

But in truth it really is a great competition with so many excellent bowlers.

The weekly winners on 35 points were Phil Wright (S), Frank D’Unienville (3), Anne Graham (2) and Sonya Grant (L).

Runners up, also on 35 points, were Michael Dady (S), Chris Coulson (3), Bev Elliott (2) and Bill Williams (L).

Best One Game winners, on 23 points, were John Nicholson (S), Laurie Bell (3) and Kevin Kitchin (L).

Thank you to Mark in the bar as well as Peter, Pauline and John.

We would be nowhere without our great volunteers, and we appreciate all the work they put in.

This week we will converge on Kooweerup Bowls Club at 10am for 10:30am start and hope to see everyone in attendance.

Until then have a safe and happy week.
